Linda J. Squeo (Potts), age 81, aka “Meme” peacefully passed away on April 20, 2024 surrounded by two of her three bestie friends, Martha Keysaer and Annie Holl. Linda is proceeded in death by her husband Bill Squeo, parents Wilbur and Edith Potts, step mother Martha Millikin Potts, in-laws Leonard and Betty Squeo, Aunt Barb O’Day, niece Amy O’Day and grand-dog McGraw. Linda is survived by her son Tom (Melissa Laudick) Squeo, daughter Julie (Ryan) Senter, grandchildren Addison (Bo) Stambaugh, Payton (Isaac) Swartz, Lily, Henry and Eli Squeo and grand-dog Vinny.
Linda was a proud 1960 graduate of Franklin Heights High School in Columbus, a 22-year Secretary at Dublin Schools and volunteered for 17 years at the Dublin Food Pantry. She loved and cared deeply for her immediate and extended family, friends, and besties: Pat Ford, Martha Keysaer and Annie Holl. She was an independent woman, with a strong personality and a caring heart. She loved to ask questions that “even God couldn’t answer” and was a great listener who was always interested in her grandchildren’s lives. She loved a good card game of Peanuts, trips to Ft. Myers Beach and being the boss - sometimes affectionally known as “Sarge”. She will be dearly missed.
Meme fought breast cancer for many years, with a goal of seeing her granddaughter, Payton’s wedding-which was also on April 20th. While she wanted more than anything to see the wedding in-person, she did see it livestreamed to the hospital, seeing Payton in her stunning wedding dress and Isaac and Payton exchange their beautiful vows. She passed away shortly thereafter. The family would like to sincerely thank the nursing and physician staff at Dublin Methodist Hospital for their grace, kindness and love shown to our Meme.
A funeral service and receiving hours will be held on Friday, April 26th at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065. Receiving hours 2-4pm followed by a funeral service at 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Dublin Food Pantry in honor of Linda Squeo.
