Linda L Stone

Linda Louise Stone passed away peacefully on January 13th, at the age of 75, surrounded by her family. Linda was born on July 3rd, 1949, in Hickory, North Carolina to Woodrow and Eunice Freeman. Linda will always be remembered for her generosity, wild spirit, strength, and most of all her remarkable devotion to family.  

Linda grew up in Columbus, Ohio and attended Linden McKinley High School. She moved to Sunbury, Ohio to raise her family and fulfill her dreams of caring for horses, breeding dogs, and many other animals (including her pot belly pig, goat and pet groundhog). She enjoyed life by taking advantage of various activities that included motorcycle rides, driving her sport cars, and spending time outside. Linda had a passion for cooking homemade meals that were enjoyed by her family and enough to "feed an army” by including her sons friends who affectionately referred to her as Mom. She carried a spirit of strength throughout her life overcoming multiple health setbacks, but she always emerged victorious.

 Linda is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bobby and Bill Freeman. Left to cherish Linda’s legacy is her husband of 37 years, Lloyd Stone; sons Jeff Stone, John (April) Stone, Justin (Sherry) Stone; beloved grandchildren Josh, Emily, Billie, Alyssa, Joe, Carley, and Riley; great-grandchildren Lincoln and Laney; sister Diana Rogers; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and adored dog Mikko. 

 Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects during a memorial service on January 27th, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at Newcomer Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231. A celebration of life will follow at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3614, 235 N Columbus St, Sunbury, OH 43074. 

Linda’s warm presence and vibrant spirit will always be profoundly missed, but her love will forever be treasured in the hearts of her family and friends.
