In Loving Memory of Lloyd L. Moore
1936-2021
Lloyd Licco Moore, 85, of Galloway, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on October 30, 2021. Lloyd was born on June 21, 1936 in Blaine, Kentucky to the late Milton and Elva (Hylton) Moore.
Lloyd moved to Columbus, Ohio to be with his sweetheart, Doris, whom he married on Valentine's Day of 1954. While raising a family and working full time, Lloyd returned to school and graduated from Central High School in Columbus, Ohio. He then went to work at Westinghouse as a supervisor in the tool and die division. In 1973, Lloyd began his career as a licensed real estate agent, and eventually became a broker, maintaining his license through 2020. In 1984, Lloyd pursued a career in plant maintenance at Lennox Heating and Air Conditioning, where he worked until his retirement.
Lloyd was a devout Christian, a 32nd degree Masonic Mason, a past Master of Chandlersville Lodge, 858 F & AM, and an associate member of other lodges in Kentucky. He was a licensed amateur radio operator and enjoyed connecting with others around the country (KC8ZVR, LLOYD). Lloyd was a avid genealogist, beginning his research in the 1960s. He was a founding member of the Lawrence County Kentucky genealogical society, and a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He will be remembered for his great conversation and for his wealth of knowledge of genealogy and his enthusiasm to share it with his friends and family.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean (Scarberry) Moore and his sister, Cynthia (Whitt) Cossin. He will be deeply missed by his children, Lloyd Licco Moore Jr., and Saundra Lynn (Moore) Chapman; his grandchildren, Jeanine (Jeremiah) Feltner and Jillian Chapman; and great granddaughter, Amelia Jean Feltner.
In true amateur radio fashion, 73 to you, Lloyd, Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa.
A private burial was held at the Galloway Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio with a traditional Masonic service.
