Lois Claye Duncan

June 8, 1937 — July 10, 2023

Our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, Lois Claye Duncan, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, at the age of 86. She was born on June 8, 1937, to Madison and Bessie (Stephens) Trimble. Lois was raised and spent many years living in the Dayton area before making moves to Alabama and North Carolina to be near her children and grandchildren. She eventually moved back to her home state of Ohio where she spent her final years.

Lois was a member of the Salem Church of God and more recently, the Hope Community Baptist Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith. Lois loved playing golf, exploring new places through travel, preserving cherished memories through scrapbooking, and delighting her loved ones with her baking skills. However, what brought her the greatest happiness was spending time with her siblings, daughters, and beloved grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart.

In her early years, Lois was married to James Morgan for 14 years and together they had two children, Alane Dempsey (Tony) and Ardra Morgan (Jody Miller). Tragically, she experienced the loss of her second husband, Earl Duncan, who passed away in 1979.

Lois will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her daughters, Alane and Ardra; her treasured grandchildren, Keely Dempsey, Eva Kelly, and Elijah Kelly; her brothers, Rodney Trimble (Penny), Ray Trimble (Connie), and Ron Trimble (Becky); and her sister, Donna (Don) Richards. She was preceded in death by her parents, Madison and Bessie Trimble, her brother Ralph Morrison (Carol), and her sister Helen Ullery (Bruce).

Lois's warm presence, caring nature, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to those she touched.
