A sweet, kind, gentle soul has gone to rest in her heavenly home. Lois passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia, she was 96 years old. A beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Proceeded in death by her parents Tom and Ruby Crum, her husband of 60 years, Richard Ewing, brothers Pat and Bill Crum, sister Janet Moormann, daughter Lisa Washburn, grandchildren Holly Ewing, Jeremiah Ewing and Jason Seely. She is survived by her children Rick Ewing (Lynn), Colleen Hazelbaker (Jon), Tom Ewing, and Jeff Ewing (Vicky). Eleven grandchildren, Sean Seely, Keeley Smith (Brad), Karli Amick (Andy),Korry Ewing, Logan Willis, Tom Ewing (Alice), Tammy Ewing, Jordan Ewing, Madison Ewing, Morgan Ewing, Elizabeth Bender( George). Step grandchildren Joseph Hazelbaker (Laura), Melinda Dixon ( Derick). Also left behind are fifteen great grandchildren, Macey and Jansen Smith, Taylor, Delaney and Drake Amick, Sebastian Ewing, Destini and Tommi Ewing, Cody Ewing, Rylie Ewing, Jesse Akers, Kyah Ewing, Elijah and Gabriel Bender, Olivia Ewing, one great-great grandchild, Ramiah Ewing, and seven step grandchildren, Annie Hazelbaker- White, Murphy Pierce, Sophia and Noelle Hazelbaker, Mina and Lilliana Dixon, George Bender Jr., and too many nieces and nephews to count.

Lois was a stay-at-home mom to her five children until they were older. She then began working in the office at West High School where she and husband Richard were alumni. She loved working with the students and teachers. Eventually she went on to work in the library at Beck Elementary in German Village which allowed her to work with the younger children she enjoyed so much. From there she worked at the Columbus Public Library downtown for several years. This was a great fit for her as she could be social and she loved all the people she met.

She was raised Catholic, but later chose the Lutheran faith, a loyal member. She raised her family in the church; a Christian woman with good values and a strong faith that she passed on to her children. She loved fellowship, singing and worshipping together with her family and friends.

She is at peace in her heavenly home, surrounded by her loved ones and embraced by her Lord.
