Lois E. James

Lois E. James passed away peacefully at her home on January 25, 2024 in Westerville, Ohio. Lois was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late Marcellus C. and Isabel M. Truxal on November 11, 1930.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon R. James, her son, Daniel James, her grandson, Shawn James, her siblings, Jean Ludwig, Jack Truxal, and Mark Truxal, her niece, Patricia Swayze, and her nephews, Robert Ludwig and Chris Truxal.

Lois is survived by her sons, Don (Annette) James and Doug (Sue) James, her daughter-in-law, Karen James, her grandchildren, Darcy M. (Jeremy) Shelson, Devonie M. James, David (Amy) James, Chad (Brittany) James, Bryon (Makayla) James, Brittany James, Jeremy and Alyssa Harmon, and her nieces and nephews, Don Ludwig, Melissa Truxal Barber, and Eric Truxal, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Lois was a 1949 graduate of Johnstown High School. Her and Vernon were married on July 4, 1954. They were married for 22 years before his passing. Lois was faithfully employed at Frank Gates Service Company for 41 years before she retired at age 76.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. We will cherish the fond memories that we shared with her forever.

Family and Friends may call on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43231at 11:00am-1:00pm for calling hours. A funeral service will follow starting at 1:00pm. Burial will take place at Blendon Central Cemetery.
