Loranna Bishop

Loranna (Henson) Bishop, 92, traveled on peacefully from home July 12, 2021. Born May 19, 1929, in Ligon, KY to parents Smith Henson Jr. and Lulie (Caudill) Henson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Willie Thurman, Johnie, Raymond, L.D., Curtis, Juanita, and Kanzella. Loranna and her loving husband Charles Bishop had been married 59 years before his passing in 2010. Loranna is survived by her sister Martha Marie (Gayheart), longtime friend Mrs. Olive Johnson, daughter Charlene (Dave) Harless, grandchildren Brian (Jeannie) Paul (Teresa) and Joy (Matthew), great-grandchildren Luvie, Willow, Logan, Belen, Adriel, Angelo, Samantha, Jada and Tyler. Son Radford Smith Bishop (Patty), grandchildren Amanda (Jimmy), James (Abbey). Daughter Daphne Ann Bishop (Andy Henson), grandchildren Jessie (Bill), Roxanne (Kyle), Tommie (Bill), great-grandchildren Brian, Devon, Kayden, Kayleigh, Keegan, Charlie, and Laylah. Loranna was a professional floral arranger with Uptown Flowers for over 30 years. She graduated from McDowell High School in 1947. She enjoyed gardening, reading, NASCAR, rodeo and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. She was a wonderful person and a fantastic mother. She was cared for at home by her children Char, Rad, and Daphne, her son-in-law Dave, as well as her grandchildren James and Amanda. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2021 from 4pm to 8pm at Newcomer NE Chapel. Service will be Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 9:30am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fancher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Nationwide Children's Hospital would be greatly appreciated. If there is anything better than being loved, it is loving.
