Loren G. Jordan

Loren Gail Jordan, Sr., 88, of New Albany passed away on, Friday, June 1, 2012. Loren was born on February 23, 1924, to William O. and Hattie (Wilson) Jordan and is preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and one son, James Jordan.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Wanda (Gamble) Jordan; children, Larry, Gail (Maribeth), Bob (Mary), Don (Kris), Terry (Cheryl), Vickie (Lester), Pam, 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and close family friends John Freschman, Mary Yoakam, Judy Romie and Debbie Jordan.
Loren proudly joined and served in the United States Air Force from 1941 to 1945. From 1945 to 1957 he delivered ice for Murray City Coal & Ice. In 1957, Loren began working for F.A. Davis Electrical Company and in 1959 he opened and operated Loren Electric Company to 1985 in the Franklin County area. Loren's favorite pastime was traveling with family and friends in their 5th wheel camper.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, at 7:00 PM where friends may call from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The family's preference is that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Franklin County Dog Shelter, 4340 Tamarack Blvd, Columbus, OH 43224.
