Lori Ann James

January 13, 1960 — January 24, 2018

On January 24, 2018 the lord unexpectedly took our Lori Ann James of Dublin, Ohio (57). She was born on October 13, 1960, in Tiffin Ohio.

Lori graduated from Bettsville High School, Bettsville Ohio. She continued her education at Findlay University, where she received her bachelor's in education. Landing her first teaching job at Starr Commonwealth in Van Wert Ohio, she then moved to Columbus, Ohio where she taught for Columbus City Schools (Rosemont School for Girls, and Clearbrook Middle School) for 30 years, retiring in 2012.

Lori was an amazing woman, making many lifelong friends over the years. After retirement, Lori fulfilled one of her dreams, a permanent camping site at Indian Lake. There was never a dull moment during summer weekends as you could find her at the lake either dancing her legs off to a local band, organizing her camping site, or just sitting around talking to her camping family.

Lori gave so much, and family was always first. She was always willing to help others, spending hours at a time to make sure your house was clean and in perfect order. She was a natural when it came to interior design, and we often joked she should have pursued decorating as a career. Using her talents as an art teacher, she could draw, paint, or color just about anything you put in front of her. Lori's truck could be spotted at any of the local thrift stores, especially Goodwill. She would often say "I get such a rush finding a good deal." She would love showing off all her special treasures during a day of shopping.

Lori or "Mimi" to her grandbabies Lily (5) Luke (3), were inseparable and loved each other "to the moon and back." She will be deeply missed by many. She was taken too soon, but we know she's in a better place. Unfortunately, we lost Lori due to complications of a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage.

Lori is survived by daughter Brooke James, son-in-law Brandon Carter, grandchildren Lily and Luke, husband Roderick "Todd" James, mother Betty Alice Stull, sister Lisa Stull, brother Gregory Stull (wife Denise Stull), nieces Roshelle Rowe (Derek Rowe, Mallory, Jackie, Hayden) and Ivory Stull, nephews Wayne Stull (Dr. Jennifer Stull, Owen, Noah) and Thomas Stull (wife Deborah Stull), brother-in-law Mark Levans. She joins her sister Cyndy Levans and father James Stull in heaven.

A celebration of her life with be held at 340 West Main street Plain City Ohio, February 25th from 11:00am-3:00pm. Lori's family request friends and family to bring a dish or snack as we celebrate her life "luau style."

Instead of flowers account number 7284584104 (Under Lori or Brooke James) has been set up through 5/3 Bank for donations.
