COOLEY
Louise K. Cooley, 95, passed away at St. Ann's Hospital on January 26, 2009. Born to Joseph and Mabel Knipper on October 27, 1913. Louise is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles Cooley, who always called her "my Ever Ever Girl". Louise taught a children's class at the Champion, Ohio Presbyterian Church, enrolled at Youngstown University, became a secretary at Aetna Standard and the Copperweld Steel Co., both in Warren, OH. After marriage to Charles on February 28, 1942, she served as secretary for the general secretary of the Warren YWCA, and went into sales for Prudential Insurance. Louise became active in the Women's Society of Christian Service, and worked with the local chapter of the Kappa Phi Club becoming its sponser, while Charles was minister for students at Ohio University. Louise was secretary for the Lima District Superintendent from 1953 to 1955. In 1955 the Cooleys moved to Kalamazoo, MI. Louise again sponsored Kappa Phi Club and its 160 members, while Charles was minister for students at Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo College. She was also the secretary for the university music department. Louise was the National Sponser for Kappa Phi when they moved to Columbus to establish King's Way Fellowship campus ministry at Ohio State University. She joined CF Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and was active in the Women's Society at King Avenue and Westgate United Methodist Churches. After retirement in 1988, the Cooleys have enjoyed the Church of the Master, Church of the Messiah, and the Stoneybrook United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231.
