Luciano Lakovic

Luciano Lakovic, 81, passed away peacefully at home in Powell, Ohio on June 30, 2022. He was born on April 28, 1941 in Sveti Lovrec, Croatia. He immigrated to America with his wife, Albina, in 1966. Together they built their life and grew their family in Cleveland, Ohio. He proudly became an American citizen in 1984. He was grounded in his Catholic faith, had a strong work ethic and enjoyed his summer vegetable gardening. He retired in 2008 from the security department at Sherwin Williams. He was a kid at heart and cherished every moment he spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Albina; daughters, Doris (Stacey) Garnett, and Nancy Lakovic; grandchildren, Mitchell Garnett, Gianna Garnett, Evaleigh Garnett, Loris Jensen, Arin Jensen, and John Jensen III; and sister, Ljuba (Tony) Mofardin. He was preceded in death by his father, Sime Lakovic, mother, Anna Lakovic, and brother, Milijo Lakovic.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-3pm, Friday, July 8, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065, where a memorial service will begin at 3pm.
