Lucille Mae Thompson Show, 89, born February 20th, 1924 (the 7th of 8 children) to John and Effie (Neff) Thompson at their farm in Galloway, Ohio. Died August 8, 2013 at Columbus, Ohio. Survived by Andrew Jr (Shawn) and Howard, grandsons Andrew III and Collin, many nieces & nephews.
The US Congress for the first time authorized women to serve in the military in 1944 and Lucille was one of the first group of women to join the US Marine Corps June 3rd, 1944. Trained at Camp Lejeune, attained the rank of Corporal, stationed at San Diego, arrived at Pearl Harbor in August 1945, then stationed at Washington DC before her discharge in Arlington, Virginia June 6th, 1946.
Graduate of Franklin University after the war and had administrative career positions with various companies including the office of the Secretary of the State of Ohio and agriculture science department at The Ohio State University. She also held several sales positions during her life and later in the 60's through the end of her life as a fine antiques dealer.
