Lucylle Chambers Debaets, age 95, arrived in Heaven on December 19, 2021.
She was born in Matewan, West Virginia on January 13, 1926 and the fourth child of Ansel Chambers and Bessie Lovins. Brothers Mack, Jack, Steve and sister Kathleen Chambers Ratliff, preceded her in death. She precedes her husband Michel Pierre Debaets.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School and Davis-Elkins College, Elkins, West Virginia. She married Michel Pierre Debaets, on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1947. Lucylle chose to dedicate her talents and life to her husband and raising her children. Lucylle also became active in many volunteer projects. She was President of the Columbus Women's Club, of Columbus, Ohio. Under her term as President, she and four other club members were founders of the second "Meals on Wheels" program in the U.S. which was located in Columbus, Ohio.
Survived by husband, Michel, children, Debbra (Ed) Caughell, Dana (Lani) Debaets, Laurie (Greg) Moore, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. To leave a message for the family visit www.NewcomerColumbus.com.
