Luther Schlaegel

Luther O. Schlaegel, 86, of Galena, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010. Luther was born to George and Golda (Clary) Schlaegel in Lesage, WV on January 23, 1924, and is preceded in death by his parents; son, James; grandson, Mark; brothers, Dorsey, Dave, Roscoe and Ira; sister, Juanita. Survivors included his wife of 61 years, Ilene (Wolf); sons, Robert (Alice), Ron (Linda), Gary (Cindy); 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sunday Schlaegel; numerous extended family members and friends. Luther served in the US Army during WW II, retired from Continental Can (Federal Paperboard/glass and worked as a security guard. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service to follow.
