Lyla Kay Collins,72, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Orville and Olive( Ferris) Shriver in Ironton, OH, on September 4, 1935, Lyla is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susie Cavanaugh; sons, Charles, Julius, and William Collins. Survivors include her daughters, Lila R. (Claude Simmons) Verne, Myrtle M. Collins, Macy M. (Bruce) Hagerman; son, Philiph Collins; sister, Jenny Lee Coon; brother, Don Shriver; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Lyla was loved in life and will never be lost in our hearts. Visitation will be on Monday, June 23, 2008, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the funeral service on Tuesday, June 24, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
