Madison "Ray" Sweeney

Madison Ray Sweeney, 74, of Reynoldsburg, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at his home. He was born in Washington Court House, OH to Madison and Essie (Kiser) Sweeney on December 30, 1937. Madison is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Sweeney.

Survivors include his wife, Joan (West) Sweeney; son, Steven Ray Sweeney; brothers, James Robert (Gwen) Sweeney and Russell Earl (Linda) Sweeney; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Smith and Jennifer Castillon, Liliana, Anamaria and Julian Sweeney; 2 great-grandchildren, Madison and Cason.

Madison retired from Timkin Roller Bearing Company after 30 years of dedicated service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Madison was a jack of all trades and his wife was proudly beside him through many adventures, including riding to California on a motorcycle for their 25 wedding anniversary.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM, with the Funeral Service at 5:00 PM. Interment Monday, October 15, 2012 at 1:00 PM in Scioto Burial Park, Rush Township, OH. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice Care, 655 Metro Place South, Suite 770, Dublin, OH 43017.
