Mahlon Miller Smith, 71, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at his residence. He was born September 3, 1935, in Washington, KY, son of the late Charles and Frances Griffey Smith. In addition to his parents, Mahlon is preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis and James Smith. He is survived by his wife, Mary Boston Smith; daughters, Mahlona (Eddie) Smith, Cheryl Alexander and Teri (Marvin Hill) Smith; grandchildren, Caprice Stewart, Stephanie, Steven, Shawn, Stacy and Shannon Smith, Maurice, Jasmine, Jalen and Tyus Hill; nine great grandchildren; uncle, Walter Brown; sister's-in-law, Patricia, Shepherd, Elizabeth Clayton and Katherine Mathis. Visitation will be Friday, August 3, 2007 from 1:30-2:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. Graveside service will be Friday, August 3, 2007 at 3:00 PM at Eastlawn Cemetery 1340 Woodland Avenue, Columbus. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
