Mamie Jackson, 78, of Columbus, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Willie Clay and Mary Catherine (Surgeon) Chrisp in Claremont, NC on August 27, 1931, Mamie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dozier L. Jackson; daughter, Paulette Clark; 14 brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughters, Bishop Nancy Womble-Morrison, Sandra Herbin, Mamie (Jack) Adams, Velma Clark, Emeline Clark; sons, James, Thomas, Willie and Paul Clark; sisters, Rosemarie Simmons, Vicki (Charles) Stubbs, Josephine Martin, Clara Moore and Carlotta (Bill) Dotson; brothers, Gilbert (Geneva) and Elijah (Naomi) Moore; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; former husband, Otis James Clark, of Pinesville, NC; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, 10-11 AM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM. Bishop Nancy Womble-Morrison will officiate. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
