Marcia Ann Smith

June 1, 1946 — September 15, 2018

You will never find someone more willing to help others than Marcia Smith. Her legacy is just that, her genuine heart for helping and serving others. This was "her way".

Marcia Ann Smith went to be with the Lord surrounded by family On September 15, 2018 at the age of 72 after a brief illness. Marcia was born on June 1, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to parents Bob and Marilyn (Pettit) Yost. Marcia graduated from Worthington High School in 1964. She spent her career working for numerous health care organizations and retired in 2002. Marcia loved life and was always ready to do something fun. She loved spending time with her family and her friends. As Marcia did with her daughters, she especially loved supporting her grandchildren in their various activities. Marcia also enjoyed travelling and a good bargain at an Amish auction, but camping was her true passion. Marcia was active at the North Baptist Church in Columbus, OH. She supported "Team Swanson" of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and was an active member of the women's organization P.E.O. Marcia is survived by her loving husband George Smith Sr. of Pataskala; daughters Julie (Jeff) Taylor of Lexington, OH and Cathy (Paul) Kirsch of Gibsonia, PA; mother Marilyn (Pettit) Yost of Worthington OH; brother Michael (Becky) Yost of El Reno, OK; step-children Melinda (Randy) Lycans and George (Beth) Smith Jr., both of Pataskala, OH; grandchildren Hannah Taylor, Emily Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Katie Kirsch, Nolan Kirsch, and Adam Kirsch; step-grandchildren Matthew (Mandy) Lycans, Elizabeth Lycans, Nicholas Lycans, and Benjamin Lycans; step-great-grandchildren Ava, Olivia, Lyla and Jax Lycans; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Marcia was preceded in death by her father Robert Yost. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH.
