Margaret Blackburn, 91, of Westerville, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on May 2nd, 2024. Born on October 10th, 1932, Sciotoville, Ohio, she was the eighth born child to John and Virginia Plummer. Margaret had nine siblings, they lived happily on Hastings Hill with a loving community of family and friends.
She had wonderful memories of being a student at Lyndsey Elementary and Portsmouth East High School, where she was the head drum major for Portsmouth East High School Marching Band. Margaret was a Cosmetologist and successful business owner, with four salons over the course of her career. Her salons offered innovative services, and special offerings to the salon community in Wheelersburg.
In addition to her Entrepreneurship, she loved interior design, and enjoyed decorating her home and salons. Margaret enjoyed music and dancing, and was known to create a fun and lively experience for her salon customers. She loved her family, customers, neighbors, and fellow church members at Berean Baptist.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Denver Blackburn, and her daughter, Vicki Sue Blackburn, and is survived by her son, Mark (Janet) Blackburn, and daughter, Julie (Tim) Hoover, both of Westerville, Ohio. Margaret has 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret’s celebration of life service will be Monday, May 13th, 11:00 a.m. at Berean Baptist Church 5526 Winchester Ave., Sciotoville. Burial will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Visitation with family will be for one hour at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
