Marie Blackman (Peters), born on June 20, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio passed away on August 28, 2021 at the age of 61 years old, after a long battle with cancer, in her home surrounded by her husband, kids, brothers, and other close family and friends. Marie was a graduate of Briggs High School, class of 1978. Retired from the Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital as a bone marrow transplant financial aid counselor for 29 years. Marie was a big Buckeye fan, loved being at the beach, loved being around family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Alan; brothers, Mark Peters, Todd (Sonya) Peters; children, Joshua Blackman, Alexandria (Joseph) Rose, Kaylina Blackman (Karl Snyder); nephews, Gerald (Christina) Metzger, Brady (Heidi) Pack; grandchildren, Thomas, Alexia, Amberleigh; great nephew and niece, Landon and Taylor; brother and sister in laws, Mark (Kim) Blackman, Carolyn Bushman-Parker, Marlane Gadrim-Stadler, Ann Hiett-Blackman; close friends, Ron (Genie) Duncan, Martin (Kelly) Whalen, Jeni Sprague (Dave Brown); along with many cousins, other nieces and nephews, and many good friends and coworkers that she made over the years while employed at OSU.
Marie is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Peters; sister, Tersea Peters, and her niece, Amanda Clark.
