Marie Simonelli, 72, of Whiting, N.J., formerly of Allendale, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. She was born in Mamaroneck, NY on September 8, 1936 to the late Thomas and Pia Vernile. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Simonelli; and sister, Laura Gil. Survivors include her daughters, Donna (Jim) Hogan, Noreen (Jimmy) Callahan, and Nadine (James) Murphy; sons, Jerry (Theresa) Simonelli, and Tony (Tammy) Simonelli; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Cheyenne, Sierra, Skylar, Anthony, Brielle, Nicki, Carly, Ashlee, Austin, and Jon; sister, Blanche; brothers, Joseph, Alfred, Emilio, and Thomas; and beloved pet, Mugsy who always kept her warm. Marie was loved by many and will be dearly missed by her family and numerous friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always made sure those around her were happy and full. A memorial service will be held on June 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth All Saints Chapel, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, N.J. 08759. In lieu of flower the family requests contributions be made in Marie's honor to your local food bank or homeless shelter. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home, Grove City, Ohio.
