Marilyn Augustine Jones
Age 73, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Mt Carmel Grove City Hospital.
Marilyn was born on August 28, 1948 in Clay County, Fola, West Virginia, the daughter
of Basil and Gladys (Stephenson) Jones.
After over 25 years she retired from Parker Hannifin Corporation. Marilyn enjoyed hosting
her family holiday get togethers with her sister Betty. She also loved crafting and trying
new dessert recipes. Her favorite place to vacation was Holden Beach, North Carolina where
she loved to relax and watch the waves. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was well loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, John Thomas Jones (Alea) of Columbus and two granddaughters, Meredith
and Samantha Jones; sister, Annie Wallace of Colorada; sister, Anita (Chuck) Gray of Lancaster;
sister, Betty Scott of Columbus; brother, Tom Jones of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents;
four sisters, Patty, Brenda, Helen, and Charlene; and one brother, John, whom she was proud to name her son after.
A gathering for friends and family will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm at Newcomer SW Funeral Home
