Marion B. Cordle, 78, of Grove City passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022. Marion was born April 5th, 1944 in Pulsen, Germany to Jakob and Babette (Zeilinger) Harwart.
Her family escaped East Germany in 1947 and fled to West Germany where they settled in Heilbronn. Marion met and married then husband James Reeder of the United States Army stationed in Germany, and moved to Columbus, Ohio.
Marion will be deeply missed by children Angela (John) McConnell, Bryan (Carol) Reeder and Heidi (Trey) Quelette; grandchildren Jonathan (Ginnie) Hickey, Morgan Reeder, Sebastian (Sara) Downs, Logan Quelette and Jordan Quelette; great grandchildren Jonathan II, Jaylah, Jenavieve, Janelle and James; nephews Bernd Harwart and Thorsten Harwart; nieces Nicole Cloud, Alexandra Elmore and Meike Harwart; as well as numerous other extended dear family in Germany. Marion was preceded in death by her parents Jakob and Babette, brothers Wolfgang and Claus, and sister Ruth.
Marion retired from Becker Powder Coatings in 2006. She was an avid sports lover and die-hard fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, Columbus Bluejackets and The Ohio State Buckeyes. She especially loved soccer and never missed The Olympics, always rooting for her beloved Germany. She loved cooking and travel shows, R&B music and history. She could answer any geography related question and loved learning about different cultures.
Visitation will be held Wednesday October 5th at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, 43123 from 5-7pm, with a short memorial service at 7pm for whomever wishes to stay. Following her cremation, she will be taken home to Heilbronn and laid to rest with family in FriedWald-Schwaigern Forest Cemetery.
