Marjorie Ann Nixon

Marjorie Ann Nixon nee Dodd, 84 of Galesburg, Illinois passed away on March 8, 2025. Ann was born September 3, 1940 in Dickinson, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold Dodd and Marjorie (Shane) Dodd, and her brother James Dodd.

She graduated as valedictorian from Brimfield High School in Brimfield, Illinois in 1958. She then obtained a BA from University of Illinois in 1963.

She married James E. Nixon in 1963 and they had two sons. Douglas and sons Alex and Matthew. Gregory (Vondolee) with sons Jackson and Chase.

After working at WGIL, Ann spent the bulk her career as an executive assistant in the vice president’s office at Knox College. She loved everything about the Knox community and her retirement gifts from Knox remained her most prized possessions. She shared her mastery of typing and shorthand as an instructor at Carl Sandburg Community College.

Aside from work, Ann was an avid reader and bridge player.
