Marjorie L Thornton

September 8, 1938 — August 30, 2021

Marjorie "Marge" Thornton went home to be with Jesus Monday evening, 8/30/21, to a place where there is no more suffering and no more pain.

Marge was born in Columbus, Ohio to Ed and Virgie Henry on September 8, 1938; she was the 9th of 13 children. Marge is preceded in death by her infant son, Timmy, her parents, and 11 siblings. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 65 years, Harold "Bud" Thornton, children: Steve(Pam), Jodi(Clint), Buddy, Becky, and Tammy; grandchildren: Shaun(Jennifer), Monica(David), Kayla(Tavin), Paige, Samantha, Tabby, Christian, Mikie, and Jennifer, great grandchildren: Shaun, Kailyn, Cierra, Nick, Ryan, Saige, Taylin, and Alyssa; her beloved fur babies: Gracie, Peppy, and Buckeye; special nieces, Robin "Robbie" and Diana who had the privilege of being able to help care for her; brother, Jim Henry(Lois), several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

Marge was an avid Browns fan and a huge fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and was not shy about sharing that fact with anyone.
She was fiercely loyal to God, her family, the truth, and doing what was right-even when others weren't watching. The laughter, love, friendship, and kindness that she so generously gave will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Marge was strong, spunky, genuine, wise, and giving; how blessed we all are to have had her influence and presence in our lives.

Family will receive friends and family from 10:00AM-12:00 PM on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Central Baptist Church, 1955 Frank Road, Columbus, Ohio. A service celebrating Marge's life will be held immediately after; Pastor Tim Womack will be officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Central Baptist Church for missions.

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? " John 11:25-26
