Marlena A. Hawthorne, 69 years old, longtime Columbus resident, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 16th, 2010. Marlena retired after 14 years of service with Toledo Scales. She loved crocheting, flea markets and rag stores. She was preceded in death by parents, daughter Crystal and twin sisters. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Virgil Hawthorne, Jr., sons: Jimmie (Nicole), Chris and Randy Huffer, daughter in law Annette, special brother in law Larry (Brenda) Hawthorne, sister in laws: Ruth Hawthorne and Mary Bender, seven grandchildren, special grandson and caretaker, Jimmie White, many nieces and nephews, best friend Donna Elkins and children, special friends: Bertha Adams, Emma Strickland and Vincent Kelly.
Visitation will be Friday, February 19th, 2010, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at 1:00 PM, all at Newcomer Funeral Home SW, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Interment in Obetz Cemetery.
