Marlene Elizabeth (Frye) Arms, of Grove City, peacefully entered into the arms of our Savior on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the age of 90.
Born on November 16, 1933 in Chapman, Kentucky to Haskel and Minnie Frye, Marlene was the youngest of six children. She grew up in Martin, Kentucky, and in the spring of 1955, was introduced to the love of her life, Billy Arms. The two were married soon after on July 9. Marlene's deep and unwavering love for Billy was evident to all who knew her. Together, she and Billy built a beautiful life that included 2 sons, 2 granddaughters, and 7 great-grandchildren. She remained a faithful and devoted wife for over 68 years until the Lord called her home.
Marlene's devotion wasn't just to her family, but to the Lord as well. She faithfully served her church, Pleasant View Baptist, for 50 years as church secretary, and served decades in other ministries like the nursery, ladies' missionary circle, and the church prayer chain.
Marlene was the true definition of a Christian lady. Her example of love, faith, and devotion will be missed by her family and her many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Charles, Eugene, Haskel Jr., Hubert, & Ralph Frye.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 68 years, Billy Arms; son Mark and daughter-in-law Lisa of Gallipolis, OH; son Brent of Chicago, IL; granddaughters Lindsey (Matt) Sterzik of Ooltewah, TN and Allison (Roy) Arney of Murfreesboro, TN; great-grandchildren Remmy, Gabby, Eli, Blakeli, Bella, Luke, and Liam; and other dear family and friends.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory (3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123), and from 10:00-11:00 am on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Pleasant View Baptist Church (2525 Gantz Rd., Grove City, OH 43123).
Funeral will be on Friday, December 29 at 11:00 am on Friday, December 29 at Pleasant View Baptist Church (2525 Gantz Rd., Grove City, OH 43123). Interment will take place at Galloway Cemetery in Galloway, OH.
