Marlene Louise Pritchett–Northern, 66, of Columbus, Ohio, born April 13,
1957 was promoted to be full time with our Lord, Sunday, December 31,
2023.
She graduated from West High School class of 1975. Marlene retired from
Molina Healthcare where she was known as a ray of sunshine that lifted
everyone's spirits and knew everyone's name.
Marlene was anointed with her God-given talent of singing and playing the
piano (by ear). Her first group started at home at the age of nine with her
two sisters Judy and Karen. Seeking a challenge as a teenager, she joined
a Christian Community Choir on the Hilltop. As her talent blossomed she
played and sang for numerous churches in Columbus and later progressed
to serve as a minister of music.
The joy of the Lord was her strength that she imparted to the churches she
attended. She was not just singing and playing but ministering to the Lord
as well as ushering people into his presence. Marlene was a butterfly that
flew around throughout her life bringing beauty and laughter that was
contagious wherever she landed. She was a kind spirited person and was
always willing to help anyone in need and a blessing to all who knew her.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother (Meena), sister and dutiful daughter
that cared for her Mother until her death. She loved her children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren and sought to make amends for any
misgivings or unforgiveness.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents Robert Lee and Catherine
Cornelius Pritchett; brothers: Robert Allen and David Leon Pritchett. She is
survived by her husband Daniel Northern; sisters: Karen Alissa Pritchett
Davis, Judy Ann Mundy (Chester) and Amber Kay Craig (James);
sister-in-law: Ida Joyce Pritchett; children: Carmaleah Pritchett, Jovaugny
and Maurice Hairston; grandchildren: Armané, Myka, Michael II, Jovaugny
II and Jacqueline (Jackie); great-grandchildren: Aniyah and Amyrah as
well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marlene is deeply loved and will be dearly missed. We are only comforted
by the knowledge that she is in the arms of Jesus and greeted by her long
since departed family.
