Martha J. Garey, 86, of Westerville, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Jonas and Maude (Bryan) Midgley on July 13, 1922, in Mechanicsburg, OH, Martha was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Omar Tooker; husband, Robert Garey; brother, Gene Midgley. Survivors include her daughter, Marjean (Robert) Wray; grandchildren, Travis (Michelle) Wray and Sydney Paige (Mike) Seerden; great-grandchildren, Austin and Madison Wray; sister-in-law, Martha Midgley; nephews, Mike and Steve Midgley and their families; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Martha was a founding member of the Westerville Community UCC. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2008, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008, 12:00PM at Westerville Community United Church of Christ, 770 County Line Road, Westerville, OH 43082. Private family interment will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westerville Community UCC or Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055.
