Martha J. Melton

Martha Jean Melton, 94, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2022. Martha is preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul E. Melton. Martha and Paul met while both employed at Owens Illinois, where Paul was head electrician and Martha was secretary. Paul was the "love of her life" and they built a beautiful life together. They were married for 47 years.

She is the cherished mother of Mike (Danelle) McCune, Jackie (Dave) Hickenbottom, and David (Diane) McCune. She is the beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Additionally, she has 8 step-children and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Martha was born on June 19th, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her mother Helen Harris and father Robert Harris. Her greatest gift was her large family of 11 siblings. She is preceded in death by David (Alice) Harris, Betty (Don) Metz, Richard (Anne) Harris, Jim (Jane) Harris, and Don (Mary) Harris. Left to cherish in her memory are the remaining siblings, Robert (Betty Jo dec.) Harris, Ann (Arthur dec.) Vorys, Glenn Harris, Donna (Ken dec.) Koebel, Bruce (Denise) Harris and Joyce (Henry) Cook.

Martha and her family would like to thank all the wonderful, hardworking staff at Brookdale Pinnacle and Meadow Grove Transitional Care who took such loving care of her.

Friends may visit on Wednesday November 16, 2022 from 2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. The funeral service will be Thursday November 17, 2022 at 9:30am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
