Martha Mae Fix

Martha M. Fix, 89 yrs old, lost her battle with Alzheimers and vascular Dementia on June 23rd, 2024. She was a graduate of East High school in 1953. She was born to Helen Sewell (Pilkington) and Walter Horch in 1934 in Columbus, Ohio. She was baptized in the Linden Lutheran Church in 1976. She was a Christian and was strong in her faith and belief in God. 

Martha worked as a waitress and hostess at restaurants such as Casino and Yolanda's in Columbus, Ohio. She later worked as a bakery clerk for the Kroger Company in Westerville, Ohio and was a member of the UFCW union before retiring in 1992. Martha raised 5 children and 1 grandchild. She was resident of the North Linden Community in Columbus, Ohio for 57 years.

Martha had a kind, giving and loving heart. She never knew a stranger and was very social. She loved talking to and helping people. During her retirement, she loved to walk, ride her bike and she volunteered at the In Review Thrift store that benefited Birthright of Columbus. She loved that she could help pregnant women and their unborn babies. 

Martha loved music, beer and dancing. She was big Elvis fan. She had a strong love for animals especially cats. She was a wonderful pet parent to many cats and dogs over the course of her lifetime. She loved Robert, her 3 legged kitty, whom she adopted from Cat Welfare Association of Columbus, Ohio.

She is predeceased by her parents Helen (Sewell) Pilkington and Walter Horch, siblings Robert Horch, Mary Griffith, her children Terri Fix, Tony Panzeca, Connie Fix, Mike Fix and her beloved husband of 43 years, Paul Fix. 

She is survived by her children Nick Panzeca, Jodie Bokemper, grandchildren Marissa Fix, Tony (Ashley) Panzeca, sister Phyllis Stern, great grandchildren and so many more family and friends whom she loved dearly. 

A brief, private graveside service will be held at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
