Martin R. Bricker, 78, of Galion, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at O.S.U. Medical Center. He was born March 20, 1930, in Mansfield, son of the late Martin F. and Helen Rice Bricker. Marty grew up in Mansfield graduating from Mansfield High School and Miami University. An exceptional architect he owned Marty Bricker Architect, in Mansfield. He is noted for designing the Mansfield Municipal Building, Mansfield Lahm Airport, and buildings on the Ohio State University Campus' as well as several hundred churches. An avid golfer, Marty belonged to the Galion Country Club and could be found on the links at any time of year. He also was a lifelong Buckeye fan and was known for his sense of humor and generous heart. He is survived by his five sons, Robert B., Martin P. (Tracy), David J. (Deborah), George H. and Peter A. (Donna) Bricker; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren and friends too numerous to count. Visitation will be Monday, September 29, 2008 from 5:00-9:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home S.W. Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Southwest Free Will Baptist Church, 1452 Greenleaf Road, Columbus, OH, with Rev. John Meade officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 15120 Collection Center Drive (15120=Lbx#) Chicago, IL 60693.
