Mary Ann Benedetto, age 85, got her angel wings on August 13, 2019. She was born on November 27, 1933 to the late Emma Marie and Martin Whalen in Columbus, Ohio.
Mary was hard-working all her life. She was recently working at Haydocy Automotive and had been for 37 years. Mary loved family, especially her grandchildren and looked forward to watching them swim in the summer. She collected angels and magnets. Mary was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie (John) Benedetto-Wheelock, Mark Benedetto, David (Tasha Sias) Benedetto and Angie (Matt) Bentley; sisters, Francis Morrison and Audrey Huwe; grandchildren, Anthony (Cortney) Wheelock, Megan (fiance, Josh Henry) Wheelock and Nathan Bentley; great-grandchildren, Emmy and Sawyer Wheelock; close family friend, Kevin Bell; many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John; brothers, Earl Whalen, Ralph "Junie" Whalen and Willie Whalen.
The family will receive guests on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in Grove City (614-539-6166). The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Parish, 473 S. Roys Ave, Columbus 43204. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
