Mary Rose Boggs

September 16, 1931 — October 26, 2023

Mary Rose (Pritchard) Boggs of Galloway, Ohio was peacefully called home October 26, 2023, at Doctor's West Hospital. She was 92 years young. Born September 16, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of George H. Pritchard and Elizabeth Emolyn McCabe. She attended school at St. Frances, St Augustine, Holy Name, Linden and Linden McKinley. Her career took her from North American Aviation, R.R. Lazarus Co, then retiring with a 26 year career with the J. C. Penny Co, 21 years as catalog Department Manager. She had a wonderful time working with and training young people in the catalog department. After retiring from the J.C.Penney Co, Mary became an active member of the Franklin County Genealogical & Historical Society, doing research and cataloging family histories. Mary loved working with the genealogy staff, making new friends and researching family history. Mary loved puzzles and genealogy gave her an unlimited amount of pieces. Mary is a lifelong member of the Columbus West Church of God, and a Christain who lived her faith. The family would like to thank the Columbus West Church of God congregation for all their support over the years and pastor Rob Watts for his spiritual direction and support.

She met the love of her life Harold Boggs of Columbus, Ohio while attending Linden McKinley high school. On July 31, 1951 while Harold was on leave from the army, they eloped to Richmond Indiana and were married. As Harold was heading back to camp Breckinridge he called Mary and said she could tell the family they were married. Harold's Mother knew something was up and was very excited they had married. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. In her later years, Mary and Harold perfected their love for each other, as they took care of each other and were side by side until her death.

Mary is survived by her husband of 72 years, Harold Boggs of Galloway Ohio. Daughter, Debra S. Britton (Don) of Fredericktown Ohio, Son, Harold Boggs Jr. of Hagerman, Idaho, grandchildren Kandace D. (Justin) Stewart of Buhl Idaho and Captain Mickenzie S. (Molly) Boggs of Colorado Springs Colorado, Brother George H. (Marianne) Pritchard of Columbus Ohio.
