Mary R. Cappel, 84, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Born to Milburn and Myrtle(Vandergrift) Barnhart on February 21, 1924, in Columbus, Mary was preceded in death by her parents ; sister, Violet "Jean" Stetzer; brother, Wes Barnhart. Survivors include her daughter, Miriam "Joy" Ballard; grandchildren, Tina Currier and Elvin Scott Ballard; great-grandchild, Sergio V. Cruz III; great-great-grandchild, Sergio V. Cruz IV; brother-in-law, Frank Stetzer; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Mary was a woman of faith and lived by the word of the bible. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 2-4PM & 6-8PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 11, 2008, 10:00AM, with visitation 1 hr prior to the service. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
