Mary Jane (Denig) Garrett, 93, slipped quietly into the presence of her Lord and Saviour the evening of December 15, 2022 after a six month battle with cancer and complications from covid. We hold faith in the finished work of Christ for our salvation (I Cor. 15: 1-4) and the blessed hope of seeing our loved ones again (I Thess. 4:13-14).
Born November 21, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio, Mary Jane is predeceased by parents Merlin Theodore Denig and Ella Barbara Cooke, husband Bobby John Garrett, sisters Ruth (Cooke) Schurtz and Betty (Denig) King. Attended Worthington Schools, Mt. Carmel School of Nursing and is a graduate of the Worthington Bible Institute.
Employed by Cole of Columbus, White Cross Hospital, Denison Engineering, Westerville City Schools and Grace Brethren Church. She taught the Life of Christ class at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, Marysville, Ohio and is a member of First Baptist Church, Westerville. Survived by beloved daughter and caregiver Melanie, son Mark (Rita Close-fellow caregiver), grandson Timothy and special nephew Dave King, cousins, nieces and nephews.
