Mary C. Poling, 85, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Columbus Colony. She was born August 28, 1923, in Columbus, daughter of the late Lewis and Jessie Burris Stiffler. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward L. Wirth Sr. and Willis Poling; daughter, Ethel L. Hashman; son-in-law, Henderson Hashman; sister, Jenny Parks; four brothers and five other sisters. She is survived by her children, Edward (Lana) Wirth Jr., Margaret (Carl) McNeal and Wayne (Teresa) Poling; sister, Effie Thompson; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Northlawn Memory Gardens.
