Mary J. Schwamberger, 74, of Groveport, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at Mt. Carmel East. She was born May 23, 1937, in Columbus, daughter of the late Harold Martin and Martha Hines Thornton. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Storts; brother, Rick Thornton and sister, Verna McClure. She was a graduate of Mifflin H.S. class of 1955. Mary is survived by her husband, Butch Schwamberger; daughters, Melody (Scott) Canterberry and Melissa Carey; brother, John (Sharon) Thornton; grandchildren, Laura and Brian Carey, Caleb Canterberry, Brittne Storts and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Breathing Association, 1520 Old Henderson Rd. Columbus, OH 43220.
