Mary Margaret Withem

Mary Margaret (Snyder) Withem lived to the age of 95 and passed on October 10, 2024. She was born on August 9, 1929 in Murray City, Ohio. One of eight, a coal miner's daughter. She graduated from Murray City High School in 1947. She was married to Chester Louis Withem on October 21, 1950, until his death in 2006. She lived in Columbus, Ohio for over 70 years. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, amazing cook and baker, gardener, and so much more. Family was always important to her and she was a key part of family reunions for decades. She was always willing to help others. She had an amazing sense of humor; some called her ornery but she preferred the term mischievous. 

She joins many loved ones that preceded her in death: parents, Carl C. and Bonnie (Schooley) Snyder; husband, Chester Louis Withem; son, Timothy Ray Withem; sister, Ethel Eileen, and brothers: Leo, Richard, Glen, Clifford, and Charles. 

She is survived by her sister, Anna May Snyder; son, Wayne Withem; daughter, Marla Withem; grandchildren: William Withem, Christina (Andrew) King; great-grandchildren: Umar King, Aasiyah King, Asta Withem, and many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, etc. 

She was an amazing human being - she was silly, honest, and kind, and blessed the lives of many - she is already greatly missed. 

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 10:30am to 12pm, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Newcomer Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, 43231. A service to honor Mary’s life will be held at 12pm Noon, also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Mifflin Township Cemetery. The Newcomer Family is honored to serve the Withem family.
