Matthew Lamar Sanders

Matthew Lamar Sanders, age 39, died peacefully in his sleep after succumbing to the multiple health challenges that plagued his brief life, on May 4, 2024. Matt is remembered as a kind and sensitive soul, always the first to say "I love you" whenever you saw him. While we are devastated by his untimely absence, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer burdened by the pain and suffering he endured on Earth.

He was born on September 6, 1984. Matthew spent his childhood in Urbancrest, OH, and lived his entire life near his beloved hometown. Matthew loved being the baby of a big family, a title he begrudgingly relinquished when his brothers Chris and Jordan came along. He was a proud uncle who boasted frequently of his 4 nieces and 2 nephews. He took great pride in his handsome looks and was known for his stylish clothes and collection of shoes.

Matthew is survived by his mother Jessie Sanders; his sisters Shawna (Gregory) Sanders-West, Candace Sanders, Erin Sanders, Loretta Sanders, and Bianca Sanders; his brothers Frederick (Tina) Sanders, Marshall Sanders, Donnell Sanders, Christopher Sanders, Jordan Sanders, and Louis Sangster, Jr.; nephews Demetrios Payne, Jr. and Dakari Thompson; nieces Tylihya Sanders, Caitlynn Sanders, Caleigh King and Cambri King; former spouse Vanessa Szanyi and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and St. Louis family. He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Sangster and brother Brandon Dixon.

Family will receive guests at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH, 43123. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial service will be held at GROVE CITY CEMETERY, 4399 Grove City Rd., Grove City, OH, 43123 beginning at 4:00 pm.
