Maurice Smith

Maurice "Sonny" Smith, 87, passed away August 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by parents, Mary and Carl Smith; brother, Danny Smith; sister, Janet Smith.

Sonny is survived by wife of 68 years, Nelda Smith; daughter, Vicki (Steve) Anderson; granddaughter, Devon (Scott) Schaffran; great-grandson, Avery Schaffran.

Sonny served in the United States Air Force in Anchorage, AK where he married Nelda. Retired from ATT after 40 years of service. His hobbies included flying his Cessna 152 and riding his Honda Goldwing. He also played saxophone in his church choir at Madison Christian and loved to sew.

Memorial Gathering Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 2pm until the time of Memorial Service at 3pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sonny's name to Honor Flight Columbus, PO Box 20133, Columbus, OH 43220. Sonny was fortunate enough to experience the Honor Flight with his granddaughter in April 2018.
