Max Anthony Andrews

Max Anthony Andrews, Sr., affectionately known as "Maximus Decimus Meridius," passed away on March 20, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on March 11, 1956, in Kingston, Jamaica, Max lived a life marked by dedication, service, and deep connections with family and community.

Max proudly served in the United States Army working his way up to Seargent from 1982 to 1987. His years in the military were a testament to his commitment to duty and discipline. Following his service, Max continued to embody the values of perseverance and integrity in all aspects of life.

Max was a dedicated worker for Philips Medical System as a trained service engineer, everyday living his motto “Work hard, work smart”. Max dedicated his professional life to fostering a team of talented maintenance crew who repaired hospital equipment around Columbus and beyond. For 15 years Max spent his days, and often nights, fixing x-ray machines, CATH Labs, and MRIs so the hospitals in Ohio could continue to heal the people in the community.

Faith played an important role in Max’s journey. He was a devoted member of Newstart Church, where he found spiritual strength and fellowship. His presence within the congregation was cherished by those who worshipped alongside him

Max is survived by his loving wife, K-Ann; their children, Sharifa, Max Jr (Liz) and Omar Andrews; his siblings, Glen Andrews, Yvette Andrews Carr, and Elizabeth Andrews and 3 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Sidian and Clarice Andrews and his brother Dillon Andrews.

A funeral service will be held on April 5, 2025, at Newstart Church, located at 795 Pollock Rd, Delaware, Ohio 43015. The service will begin at 9:30 AM and conclude at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N High St, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. A luncheon will be provided at Newstart Church starting around 12:30 PM after the entombment service.

Max’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
