Melvin M. "Marty" Massey, Jr., 55, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born on July 13, 1967 in to the late Melvin and Janice Massey.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Gerard and Katherine Morgan & Edwin and Ruby Massey.
Marty is survived by son, Tyreece Samuel Massey; sisters, Terri Lynn Massey, Paula Marie Massey; granddaughter, Kennedy Skye-Lee Massey; uncles and aunts, Ralph (Fonda) Morgan, Glenn (Jackie) Morgan, Linda (Louis) Price, James (Jackie) Massey, Robert (Ruby) Massey, Eugene Massey, Betty Massey and a host of cousins and friends.
Marty was an avid sports fan. He loved the Michigan Wolverines (sorry OSU...Go Blue) and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also passionate about his car. He worked at Mt. Carmel West for over 25 years then transitioned to Nationwide Children's Hospital, where he made special friendships.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Unity Baptist Church, 1358 Mt. Vernon Ave., Columbus, OH, 43203 with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 pm also at Unity Baptist Church.
