Michael Arthur Hundt, 52, of Dublin, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Saturday, January 27, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Columbus on May 13, 1971 to Walter A. and late Linda L. (Waller) Hundt. He married Jennifer (Green) Hundt on December 29, 2019, and she survives.
Along with Jennifer and Mike's father, other survivors include son, Ty (Layla) Hundt; daughter, Melora (Kevin) Nye; step-son, Brandon (Zoe) Mason; step-daughter, Julie Mason and Madison Scott; step-mother, Jan Hundt; brother, David (Cheryl Bergsman) Hundt; sister, Karen (Andy) Blackburn; niece, Reagan Blackburn; nephews, Cameron (Cassady) Hundt, Grant Blackburn, and Jackson Blackburn; Along with his mother, Mike is preceded in death by niece, Courtney Hundt. Along with many close friend and nieces and nephews that claimed Mike as "Uncle Knife".
Mike graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1989. Immediately following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He served from September of 1989 to May of 1992. He was very proud to be a Marine and that he served during Desert Storm. For the last few years, Mike worked at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Mike had a great passion and pride in helping care for Indian Lake State Park as a member of their maintenance team.
When he wasn't working, Mike loved to go fishing, camping, and on Jeep adventures with friends and family and riding his golf cart around Indian Lake and playing his music for all to enjoy. He loved music and enjoying activities and events around Indian Lake. Him and Jennifer loved to travel, one of their favorite trips being Isla Mujeres, Mexico where they were married. His personality and energy he brought to the room will be missed dearly by his friends and family.
Visitation to honor Mike will be held from 5 to 7pm, Monday, February 5, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral, Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, 43231. Service to occur at 11am, Tuesday, February 6, 2024, also at Newcomer Northeast. The Newcomer Family is honored to serve the Hundt family.
