Michael D. Jones, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away February 25, 2022. He was born on September 1, 1949 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Tod and Joan (Harness) Jones.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Joe.
Surviving family includes, wife of 34 years and love of his life, Lori Jones; children, Tonya, Amy, Cara, Emily; grandchildren, Hallie, Aaron, Heather, Austin, Ashley, Jordan, Bransen, Evelyn; great-grandchildren, Brody, Azalyn, Beckett, Bailey, Maklyn, Callum, Carter; sisters, Anita (Richard) Alley, Dreama (John) Nolan; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mike is a decorated Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with 2nd OLC and "V" Device.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Crown Point Care Center and Bella Health Hospice Care.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's name may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the funeral home.
