Michael E. Melvin, 67, passed away July 5, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Mary C. Melvin, as well as sister, Carol Jean Melvin. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruby (Boyer) Melvin; children, Sandra Melvin, Mary (Charles) Duncan and Laura (Matthew) Murphy; sisters, Patricia Brush, Kathleen (Ron) Brush, Mary Alice Schuhart, Laura (Michael) Stuts; brothers, Jack (Mary Ann) Melvin and James Melvin; grandchildren, Michael Melvin, Chuckie Duncan, Matthew Murphy Jr., Justin Murphy, Brian Duncan and Shane Murphy; great-grandson, Matthew Murphy III. Michael served four years in the United States Navy. He worked as a meat cutter for 17 years at Kroger and 17 years at Norm's Market. He also attended Canaan Land Free Will Baptist Church. Friends and family are welcome Monday, July 11, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Canaan Land Free Will Baptist Church, 2777 Gantz Rd., Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 11 am, also at Canaan Land. Interment to follow at Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, OH.
