Michael Raymond Pahl passed away peacefully September 11th 2022 after an extended illness.
Born to Raymond and Auleen Pahl December 6, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio. Predeceased by his parents, in-laws Bob and Mary Lano, the love of his life Teddy Pahl in 2002 and his son Zack Pahl in 2021. Survived by daughter Bethany (Tyler) Green, grandchildren Leah and Colton; daughter-in-law Fallon and granddaughter Lily.
Mike graduated from Aquinas High School in 1965 and attended Ohio Dominican (formerly St Mary of the Springs). He remained in close touch with many classmates and met with them regularly.
Mike worked in property and casualty claims in the insurance industry for 30 years, but his true passion was the world of duck hunting and duck calls. From the history, to the art of creating them, to the stories, and of course the camaraderie in and out of the duck blinds. He turned these passions into some 400 or more highly collectible calls and many successful hunts with new and old friends.
Mike was a sun worshipper, and enjoyed annual trips to Cancun where he and Teddy vacationed together. He had 'buddies' everywhere, be it staff and guests at the Marriott in Cancun, or old neighbors who became his dearest friends.
Mike loved to talk about his family, and loved to show off pictures of his beautiful Teddy and the family they created.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice who has helped with this transition, the Lung Cancer Research Foundation in honor of Teddy, or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in honor of Zack.
Extra special thanks to the many dear friends who visited him over the past few months.
No services are planned at this time. Go hunting, blow a call, or have a Miller Lite in his honor.
