ROMANIW, Michael, 83, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at Mt. Carmel West on August 9, 2005. He was born June 6, 1922 in Ormrod, PA. Served in World War II, as a cook Sgt. with the 491st Company. He worked most of his life in the Food and Restaurant industry. He very much enjoyed all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An avid sports fan of the New York Giants football team. He loved and followed horseracing and enjoyed card games with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Irvan (John) and Senka Romaniw; brothers, James and Steve. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia (Beisler) Romaniw; daughters, Carolyn (Ken) Hoover, Jean (Paul) Montgomery, Roxanne (Patrick) Veeley, Kathy (Mike) Hinton, Mary Romaniw; sons, Michael (Cindy) Romaniw, Peter (Chris) Romaniw, Steven (Ivette) Romaniw; sister, Ann Michio; ten granddaughters; ten grandsons; two great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Much appreciation to 6th Tower staff for their care at Mt. Carmel. Thanks to all friends and associates at the couple's retirement residence. Family will receive friends Friday, August 12 from 4:00-8:00p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 10:00a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Blue Church Cemetery, Sunbury, Ohio.
