Michael P. Schwinne

September 4, 1950 — January 28, 2023

Michael P. Schwinne (Mike or Mickey) came into this world on September 4, 1950 and departed from it on January 28, 2023. He is the third of nine children born to Warren and Agnes (Snyder) Schwinne. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary (Schwinne) Greenlee and Sue Anne (Schwinne) Elsner, brothers Jim and Bill Schwinne, father-in-law Garland Phillips, sister-in-law Sharon (Phillips) Carter, and brother-in-law Steven Phillips. Mike is survived by his wife Kathy (Phillips) Schwinne, mother-in-law Bernice Phillips, son Douglas (and Heather) Schwinne; three grandchildren Hannah (and Stephen) Moore, Emma and Derek Schwinne; sister Jean Schwinne; brothers Jack (and Connie) Schwinne, Frank and Robert Schwinne; brother-in-law Don Greenlee; sisters-in law Barb (and Duey) Garcia, Connie Schwinne, and Kim (and Randy) Balling; nephew Shane Carter; goddaughter Karen Robinson; close friends Robert and Michele Akins; and many other relatives, friends, co-workers and acquaintances.

In 1975 Mike married Kathy, his wife and true love for over 47 years. Mike worked as a mechanic for most of his career. He was an honest, quiet, but hard-working individual, who lived an easy-going and uncomplicated life. He enjoyed the simple, basic things in life. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed going on vacation with them, as long as he could drive there; he was adamant about not flying or taking a boat. He had the companionship of cats and dogs throughout his life, enjoyed puzzles of all kinds especially Sudoku and word fill-ins, playing cards, and watching wrestling and movies for hours with Kathy after they both retired several years ago.

Mike died peacefully, surrounded by family members. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. May he find eternal comfort and happiness in the presence of his loving God.
